HOW TO START A PARENTING BOOK CLUB

You bring the people.
Start with this simple plan.

Use this suggested format for a moms’ group, a parenting small group, or a PTA parent book club. Set a pace that works for your families.

Before you begin

Preview Session 1 and the free workbook, choose six meeting dates, and decide whether parents will watch together or beforehand. Print the worksheets and order a book for each participant who wants their own reference copy.

At each meeting

Use the study workbook’s activity and the corresponding chapter’s conversation starters. Invite parents to share an everyday moment, then choose a phrase or response to practice at home. Leave room for listening and discussion.

Between meetings

Try the tools during a familiar sticking point—getting out the door, starting homework, or winding down for bed. Open the next meeting with what parents noticed.

Planning for a school or PTA? Share the first video, the six-session outline, and the book price with your team. The program focuses on how grown-ups communicate with children.

Questions group leaders ask.

Are the study workbook and parent worksheets free?

Yes. Download the 16-page GUG study workbook, the child temperament worksheet, and the tips for grown-ups above, with no sign-up. They accompany the paperback and six free teaching videos; the book contains the full teaching, conversation starters, and reference tools.

Does every group member need a book?

The chapter conversation starters and practical reference tools are in the paperback. We recommend a copy for each participant who wants to make notes and use the tools at home. The videos are free to watch.

Is this a six-week parenting curriculum?

It is a book study with six companion teaching sessions and discussion starters in Part 1. You can meet weekly for six weeks, stretch it out, or watch ahead. The book remains a reference for everyday parenting after the group finishes.

Do I need to be a certified presenter to lead a book group?

You can gather a book discussion group and watch the public companion videos together. Paid presenter certification is a separate program for people who want to pursue that training.

Can a PTA, PTO, school, or church order in bulk?

Yes. This group offer is for organizers buying Guides together. Public group pricing begins at 20 books. Preview the teaching and outline with your team, then order online or ask us about your organization’s purchasing requirements.

How are group books shipped?

Group orders use the same fulfillment service as our regular book orders, Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment. Enter one U.S. delivery address to calculate shipping before payment. An order may arrive in more than one package.

Can I get an invoice or use a tax exemption?

Contact our team before paying. We’ll review your quantity, delivery details, and purchasing documentation. An inquiry does not place an order or reserve stock.

Can we study I Said This, You Heard That instead?

Yes. The 2025 Edition Workbook has its own six-session communication study. Tell us if you need workbook copies or a mixed order. The group offer on this page is specifically for the Guide.
